Hello, I’m Sophie!

I’m a Business English and Interview Coach with over 11 years of experience across recruitment, talent management and business development.

Before moving into English coaching, I spent over a decade working in recruitment, including senior roles within international recruitment agencies and in-house talent teams across the UK and Australia.

Throughout my career, I’ve interviewed and assessed hundreds of candidates, worked closely with hiring managers and helped businesses recruit across a range of commercial functions, including IT, Sales, Marketing and Finance.

This experience has given me valuable insight into what employers look for, how recruitment decisions are made and what makes candidates stand out.

Today, I combine that industry experience with my teaching background to help international professionals communicate more confidently in English, perform better in interviews and make the most of their career opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 11+ years’ recruitment and commercial experience: Working across recruitment agencies, in-house talent teams and business development.

• Recruitment expertise: Candidate assessment, interviewing, talent acquisition and working with hiring managers.

• PGCE: Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Merit).

• TEFL Qualified: English language teaching qualification.

• BA (Hons) Sociology: 2:1.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Outside of teaching, I enjoy travelling, keeping active and learning about different people, cultures and industries.

I’m naturally sociable and enjoy meeting people from different professional backgrounds. I want my lessons to reflect that: interesting conversations, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to learn from one another.

I understand that speaking another language in a professional environment can sometimes feel challenging, particularly when you’re used to communicating confidently in your own language.

My aim is to help you bridge that gap so your English better reflects the knowledge, experience and professional ability you already have.
